Happy
Halloween - Again...
<6:15
PM CST - schu>
Yes I realize that Saturday wasn't Halloween, but it was the primary
time to get drunk on behalf of Halloween. Today really is Halloween
and it better not suck as much as that party I went to on Saturday.

Get
Carter DVD Competition
<11:55
PM CST - schu>
Gamespot UK is running a Get
Carter DVD Competition until November 18th. Get Carter is
a 1971 British gangster movie that was one of the main inspirations
for GTA London. By the way, this is a drawing for the 1971 version
of the movie, not the sh*tty US knockoff starring Stallone.
Rockstar's
Two for PS2 Reviewed
<11:55
PM CST - schu>
Gamespot and IGN have both posted reviews for Midnight Club: Street
Racing and for Smuggler's Run. Both of the games got pretty

Happy
Halloween
<11:55
PM CST - schu>
Well nothing much is going on, but in the spirit of Halloween you
should listen to this
show on Coast to Coast AM about Chupacabra's.... You might have
to skip ahead to around 30 minutes into the show to get to that
part but its pretty interesting, especially if you can listen to
it in a darkened room. You might also want to check out the

Updates
<11:30
PM CST - schu>
- Not
much going on today but tomorrow you should be able to purchase
Rockstar's two latest titles, Smuggler's Run and Midnight Club:
Street Racing. I guess a PS2 might come in handy as well
:).
- I
think I'm going to have to burn a GTA2 audio cd... I drove
to Chicago yesterday and drove back today and I spent the entire
trip listening to the GTA CD. Its been awhile since
I've listened to it in my car. I'd have to say that
track 9 is still my favorite but I'd like to at least give the
GTA2 sound track a chance, although I don't think it will rival
GTA. I'm not sure what it is, but driving through the city
and breaking the speed limit whenever possible is just so much
more entertaining while listening to GTA. I don't want to
go on an anti-warez tirade, but if you are playing the warez version
of GTA, you really owe it to yourself to get the full CD version
with the sound track. Hell, its probably down to $10 by
now. Anyway, the whole point is that if you like to drive
and like GTA you should give it a listen in your car from time
to time, especially if you can do it right after playing GTA,
just be careful not to take it too far. I've got at least
one speeding ticket I can attribute to that... Now if I
could just get the audio from the GTA2 promo movie on cd...

Spend
This Weekend "Somewhere"
<9:45
PM CST - schu>
So, you're bored off your ass and looking for something to rekindle
that GTA spirit. Well then, why not help test out Azz'z "Somewhere."
I've been driving around the town and getting a feel for the map and
if for some reason you haven't downloaded it already, you should do
it NOW. The cars rock, the map rocks, so far, and if Azz can come
up with some good missions the entire conversion should kick ass.
While you're doing this you should keep in mind that the current release
is a TEST which means you should expect bugs and contribute to the
Somewhere discussion in Azz'z
forum.

Updates
<9:45
PM CST - schu>
Yesterday's update was not posted yesterday because of a delay in
my phone service. Turns out they did that because they came out
to install my DSL line today. That got me all excited because they
were installing it about a month ahead of schedule, that was until
they told me that I have to wait for them to "process" the order
and ship me the filters and the modem. Obviously Ameritech doesn't
believe in streamlining anything. So right now I'm waiting for some
prick to check a box on a form and ship a box to me. Regardless,
my phone service is back to normal and DSL is on the way and since
there wasn't anything going on yesterday anyway I suppose it wasn't
all that big of a loss in the end.

GTA
Arena Signs Off / Star Wars GTA RIP
<11:55
PM CST - schu>
Stuart announced today that he is no longer going to update GTA Arena
and he is canceling Star Wars GTA, UNLESS he gets enough support from
emails to keep it going. Here is the full announcement for more
details:
"Hi,
this is Stuart, just to let you all know that GTA Arena will no
longer be getting any updates, and I have given up on Star Wars
GTA. The reason for this is that I don't have time,
and if I were to try and complete it, it wouldn't come out for
ages, and with GTA 3 on the horizon it seems a bit pointless.
If
anybody wants to continue the project then let me know at
www.gta-arena.8m.com. I
would appreciate it if illspirit could finish it as he seems to
know what he's doing with GTA, and I know it would turn out a
lot better than I could ever get it.
I
may update just site if I get enough e-mail support (If you all
e-mail me and tell
me you like my site) If not then thanks for all your support and
goodbye...for now..."
The LingSter Returns
<11:55

The LingSter has returned to the
GTA scene with the promise of new cars. Check out his site
at lingster.gtaxtreme.net
and here is the announcement of his return:
"Yes,
he's come back. After a 4 month hiatus, he has strolled
back into the scene. Lacking the Award Winning dealership
that put him over the edge, (and his wedding that took place on
June 23rd) He's come back and has begun creating cars again.
Look for sneak peeks at the site!"

Azz'z

<11:55

well just about everything kicks ass. Anyway, read the announcement,
go to the Somewhere web site @ www.gtazz.btinternet.co.uk,
download the beta and make sure you post any bugs, comments, etc.
in the Somewhere forum accessible on GTAzz
or on the Somewhere site:
"The
public beta test of Somewhere is now underway. You can download
a copy of the files from www.gtazz.btinternet.co.uk
Please report all bugs and errors to the Somewhere board on the
GTAzz forum (accessed through any of my sites)."

GTA2
Trainer On AVault
<7:30
PM CST - schu>
I was reading the latest over at the Adrenaline Vault when I noticed
they had posted a GTA2
trainer. I'm not sure if this is an older trainer that has
already been posted or something new. Regardless, the update
claims that it includes 26+ options and its only 41k so it might be
worth a look if you are into trainers.
Smuggler's
Run Reviewed
<7:30
PM CST - schu>
Gamespot has posted their review
of Smuggler's Run, one of Rockstar's new PS2 titles. It
got a fairly good review and something in the review gives me new
hope for its similarities to GTA. Mainly yesterday I mentioned
that not being able to run down pedestrians generally annoys me
but the following quote for the Smuggler's Run review gives me new
hope.
"Other
characters in the environment vocally interact with you - police
beg you to stop your vehicle, hikers plead for their lives as
you mow them down, and rival gangs insult you when you steal their
contraband."
Midnight Club Date and Soundtrack
Info
<7:30
PM CST - schu>
Rockstar's other PS2 title, Midnight Club: Street Racing, is due
out on October 26th according to the latest news over at AVault.
In other Midnight Club news, Gamecenter posted a brief
article on the Midnight Club soundtrack which will include music
by Derrick May, Dom & Roland, and Surgeon. The article
also has a brief quote from Rockstar COO Terry Donovan who played
an instrumental role in the soundtracks for GTA, GTA2, and GTA:
London.

New
Midnight Club Preview
<6:45
PM CST - schu>
There is a new
preview for Rockstar's up and coming title Midnight Club: Street
Racing over at Gamecenter. It sounds like both of Rockstar's upcoming
PS2 racers should appeal to most GTA fans judging by the previews
I've read for both Midnight Club and Smugglers run. Although I never
feel quite at home playing games that won't let me run down pedestrians.

Another GTA3 Wireframe Exclusive
<11:50
PM CST - schu>
I was checking my email today getting all pissed off at how long it
was taking to download until I saw what was slowing it up. A
source close to DMA and Rockstar leaked another exclusive GTA3 wireframe
movie to me. This one has a longer running time than the last
one I posted and includes multiple people, but its still a wireframe.
The movie features the player ripping some guy out of the passenger
side of the car while the driver flees in terror. The player
then enters the car through the passenger side, moves over to the
driver's side and drives away with the car as a another guy shoots
at him with a rifle. Pay special attention to the way the open
driver side car door flies open as he drives off screen at the end.
It is definitely worth a download, especially if you're dying for
GTA3 information. I doubt I'll be able to get any official comments
on this, but I'll see what I can do. If you have any specific
questions, please send them in
and I'll see what I can find out. Here are a few screenshots
of the movie and I've also included a link to the original movie I
posted awhile back. If you run a GTA web site and would like
to post this, feel free, but please mention that you got it from GOURANGA!
with a link back here.

GTAzz
Back In Action
<11:50
PM CST - schu>
Azz haz informed me that GTA
-
Get That Azzhole? is back up and running.
Not only is it back up and running, its also completely overhauled
and looks better than ever. Azz requests that you please read
the latest news updates on GTAzz BEFORE sending in any new cars.
So, while you are waiting for that new GTA3 wireframe movie to download
you should go to azz.gouranga.com,
take a look, and make sure to vote in Azz' poll on what you think
of the new design.

Updates
<11:50

Finally, an update worth reading, not only that but the new look
of GTAzz completely kicks ass compounded by the fact that another
GTA3 wireframe has been leaked... Pardon me while I take a moment
to myself, *sniff*...

AGGTA
Does 10k <10:30
PM CST - schu>
Alastair informed me that AGGTA recently hit the 10,000 hit mark.
AGGTA is dedicated to the alt.games.grand-theft-auto
newsgroup. You can check it out at www.aggta.co.uk
and help it get to the 20k mark that much quicker. I occasionally
post any GTA3 information I find on the newsgroup but that sort of
information has been rather slow lately so I've been lurking in the
shadows. Speaking of lurking, there was a thread on Hari Krishnas
recently on the newsgroup and I felt compelled to repost this
picture. Quite possibly one of the greatest pieces of GOURANGA!
art ever sent in. Granted they aren't Hari Krishnas in the picture,
but its still entertaining.

Happy

<12:00

Apparently September 30th was Tiffany's birthday. Even though
it might be a little late you still have time to send
her a birthday card. To inspire you I created this lovely
work of art using only my raw talent and MS Paint. If you
don't possess the sheer creative talent that I do or if you are just
too damn lazy you might just want to sign her guest book at Tiffany's
Unofficial Grand Theft Auto Shrine. Thanks to S3KT0R for
Tiff's birthday to my attention.

GTA2
More Extreme Updates
<11:00
PM CST - schu>
No Fear has been hard at work over at GTA2
More Extreme. Here is the latest update from his site:
GTA2
More Extreme (GTA2 ME) has changed to a new look! The Grand Theft
Auto 2 resource site is still going strong, even though the updates
are very limited because of the lack of time and news. I'd like
to thank all of the visitors for the support! That's why a new
look and a nice update showed up a few days back. I'll list up
some small things to make it more clear:
GTA2
ME's Latest Updates:
- New
look on the site
- New
GTA2 Cars
- Brand
New GTA2 maps!
- A
new notification way, you can now send short SMS messages to
my mobile phone, FOR FREE
To
come back on the Short Message Service, people have taken lots
of use of it, and its great fun to receive messages on my mobile
phone from GTA Fans! Too bad it can only consist of 128
characters. That's about it with the bigger headlines of GTA2
More Extreme. Hopefully I'll meet you up there! Thanks for visiting!"
GTA3D.de Goes WAP
<11:00
PM CST - schu>
The headline pretty much says it all. GTA3D.de
now offers WAP updates that you can access via mobile phones and
other WAP capable devices at gta.wapmatic.de.
From what I recall, GTA
Tanks is the only other site offering WAP updates.
