and you won't die. I have only been able to recreate the situation once, but I thought that it was pretty cool loophole in the game design. That's tip 1. Tip 2 is a way to get quick
points... Get on the subway and switch your weapon to flamethrower. When
you get off the subway train, pedestrians get off with you. If you come
out shooting fire, you get 1000 points each. You can repeat this little
trick several times, before nobody gets off with you. It earned me several
thousand points in a quick amount of time....
I know that this hint has
been given for multiplayer games, but it works real well for single player
games too. Just stand near the top of stairs, such as the bridges that
cross the streets in this, and you can easily take out the police, since
any shots they fire at you go below you.
I found a pretty easy way
to make money.. It's actually very simple. You know those guys that are
dressed in orange, travel in a group of five or six, and are singing that
annoying music? Have your fists ready & bump into them, when they say
"watch out" or "hey", they will now follow you. You will become their new
leader. Anything you do (ie: zig-zag or walk in a circle) will be imitated
by them. Then when you get tired of them, take out your flame thrower or
machine gun & stop. Then turn around and shoot them, they'll run around
screaming & you'll get a lot of points. This works best with the "hate
machine" cheat, cuz you'll finish your level.
How to steal a police car
and get away with it! Steal a car (any car) park it in front of a
respray shop. Then kill three people. When a cop comes to bust
you, kill him and take the police car. Drive to the respray shop
and swap cars. Repaint or change plates on the stolen car.
Now the cop's won't follow you! Change to the cop car! Its
yours!
I've been exploring the bug concerning motorbikes, the Ctrl button, and control multiple vehicles. I've now found a way to consistently control multiple vehicles in any city, at any time. I'm not really sure if this would be better on your bug page or tips & tricks, but anyway, here's how you do it. First, find a motorbike. Steal it. As you climb on the bike, press Ctrl. Now I find that this works best with the punch selected, but if you insist, you can use your rocket launcher >:] What should happen is that
as you climb on the bike, your guy starts punching, as he slides off the
bike. If the trick worked, you wont be able to steal the bike again.
If you are still able to ride the bike,
Next, steal a car, preferably,
something fast or something heavy. Take your new car and ram the
bike. Have fun. If you die, you will still control the car.
In fact the only way I have found to stop driving the car is to damage
it enough so it blows up. Also, if you steal the car that you rammed
the bike with again, you wont be able to get out.
TooooL submitted the tip
to take cars to the docks for money, and he reckons that the guy gets angry
and won't take any more after a while. The bloke will take more but only
if his 'dump' square is free. To check this, get out of the car, and stand
so you can see the barge. If the car you last gave him is in the area nearest
the crane arm (usually the bottom left corner). Then go for a walk until
the barge is out of sight. Then come back, and you should be able to dump
your car. The bloke doesn't accept limo's,
Bob Giff has submitted a tip to destroy police cars by allowing them to smash into the back of your Coach. This also works in a fire truck and a tanker. Another way to kill loads
of people - Park your (very fast) car on the pavement, and walk into the
middle of the road (Best if road is a 4 lane-er). Use your machine gun
to blow cars up. Keep doing it for ages and do it to the cops. Then either
drive away into a respray shop, or nick the fire engine when it turns up!
I have found that when you
are in a fast car and need to get some place in a hurry using the brake
when turning is a good way to get through turns fast. That way you don't
have to take the turn wide a lose
If you own a slow machine
(486DX2-66) or similar, you have probably turned sound off to make the
game run faster. However, you will not hear the car going to pieces that
way, just sort of feel it getting slower. The PORKCHARSUI cheat may
help you here: pressing C while the cheat is active will add a display
that shows you the exact damage sustained, among other things.
To emergency stop, press
brake and reverse at the same time. This tends not to work at low speeds.
Top Things To Do In Cannonball Multiplayer Races: Rather than jumping in the nearest vehicle, get to someone else's door after they've just got in. Then press ENTER, and drag them out of their car! After this, the choice is yours, but personally I find reversing over them, ramming the remaining car out the way and speeding off always has that little touch of class. Note the same thing is also
a good tactic against 'Maniac in a fire engine' syndrome. I've seen
so many poor, defenseless little cars taken out by the fire truck (when
the target doesn't have a machine gun to
And Doom syndrome? Anyone ever played Doom so
much multiplayer you agreed to 'all meet in the courtyard for a fist fight',
and someone brings a rocket launcher (and promptly incurs the wrath of
everyone)? Well, we found out recently GTA has the same syndrome
- it's called bringing a Beast GTS and a knowledge of the hand brake key.
This is
more of a trick than a tip. Have you ever wanted to drive a boat
in the water in GTA? In Liberty city and possibly others there is
a way to do it. First, ya hafta change your starting vehicle in the
mission.ini file (you can see how do do that in the hacking section) and
change your car to number 13 - the boat. Start up "Gangsta
Bang" and then drive the boat very carefully to any spot that has an opening
onto the water, where you or a car would normally fall into the water.
Drive the boat very slowly off and you should have a boat sitting right
on the water, ready do drive around
When being chased on foot
by police, try jumping over cars going in the opposite direction. The cops
don't jump over cars. Also, if you get fed up of running, try running backwards,
and fire your weapon at them, it gives you more chances to shoot them.
The cop cars are the best for long police chases.
I'm not sure if this is the
same in the PC version of GTA, but in the Playstation version...
I found out that if you steal
a bus (coach) and the cops are after you they try to ram you from behind
and
When you start the first
mission at Liberty City get into the train press Ctrl and go back wards
this will slam into the other train and blow up all the cars and people
near it, through the ground.
It is possible to destroy
all the cars!!!
Here is a tip that i found
out in San Andreas (both levels I think). Go to North East Richman
and look around for a green Porsche parked in a small clearing, get in
and drive straight ahead, you'll go between two buildings, jump across
a long strip of water and land just after you drive (fly?) under a bridge,
keep driving straight and go as far as you can, you will hit the wall surrounding
the police impound yard, and you'll get an "INSANE STUNT BONUS" message
on screen and 40,000 points. If you look around for some multipliers so
you have 6x then you'll get 300,000 points.
Press C in the game
after typing buckfast, and you must have all levels available to you, and
your co-ordinates will appear at the top of the screen, along with the
code of the car, its damage and your current speed.. enjoy watching the
speed drop as you hit an un suspecting pedestrian.
Try getting on a bike,
as long as you do not have any weapons out, and keeping the attack button
pressed while riding. If you hit a car, you don't actually fall off the
bike and roll over, you just start walking instead. This saves
a few seconds when escaping from the cops.
In Liberty City, if you go
to the docks and give a couple of cars for money, the guy gets mad and
won't take anymore. I found out that if you have a rocket launcher
and shoot the car on the crane right after you get the money, then you
can bring in more cars and even get points for blowing the car up.
In San Andreas City you can
gain lots of points by getting the police on your tail (not too hard) and
then walk up one of the foot-bridges over the double highway in the middle.
The cops will wait for you under the bridge where you can lead them on
the highway and just wait for other police cars to run them over (splashshsh...
and 10,000 points for one and 30,000 for the second stupid cop etc.)
If you're making a pileup, or generally don't want any cops on your tail (sensitive mission, etc.), instead of running up to cars and getting in them, once the car has stopped, shoot it (NOT with a rocket launcher) and the occupant will get out. You might have to shoot a couple of times. You can then get in the car and it won't count as a car jacking, subsequently not acquiring any police after about 10 cars. It is still a firearm offense, but police only come after about 100 shots or so! Tip for the Tip: Try and shoot the car/truck/whatever as little as possible so it's in good condition and won't explode after five knocks. Also, a flame-thrower (in moderation) is good for slow moving, or just out of reach moving cars, they will stop and run away for you. Another tip:
If you stole a police car,
and have the police chasing you, wait till your on a long stretch of road.
and when the chasing police car comes up beside you, right before his front
end passes yours, cut him off, so he rams into your side, but keep the
gas on cause he might blow up. but if you do it right you usually hit him
about 5 times in the front. And that causes considerable damage, and as
we all know.. Damage slows down a car. You could probably use another
car, but I've only got it to work well with the police car.
This tip works best if you've
already completed a few missions and have a multiplier of say 4 or 5.
On the cities with trains (i.e. Liberty City & Vice City) go to a train
station and wait for a train to come along, then get in and kill the driver
by pressing 'fire'. The train should remain still. Then get out again
and usually a group of passengers will get out with you. Make sure
you walk a few feet forward when getting out of the train and fire a few
shots with a machine gun or pistol (it's a good opportunity to shoot some
of them as well). Most of the people will panic and run onto the
tracks and electrocute
Okay here's how it goes people
pull your car up tight beside a fence or I hate to say it *paper thin wall*
1: On San Andreas you can
get on alot of the buildings by going up one of the ladders on a super
bike and jumping from rooftop to rooftop.
I have found that you can
drive down the middle of roads with jeeps as well as bikes if you center
your 4x4 on a yellow line you can drive at speed without hitting other
cars
On the liberty city demo,
right where you start, get a car and drive it straight to the railroad.
Just before the car touches the railroad, abandon it. (it can take a few
tries, but it works) Try getting it as close as you can to the part with
the fence at the south, where the locomotive can't throw the blown car
aside. If you succeed, which is INDEED possible, the train will hit the
burnt debris of the car, and if you did that
Here's a fun way to kill
as many cops and peds as you want WITHOUT GETTING CAUGHT OR CHEATING!!
all you have to do is get a PUBLIC vehicle (bus, tanker, fire engine etc
etc..) then find a nice LONG building that's near a highway, get up alongside
it so the cops can't get at your door, the cops will run around in front,
beside, and behind your vehicle, when he gets to close WHAMMO!! run him
down!! the more cops you kill the more will come! I did this for so long
once I had about 15 cop cars to choose from! this is really fun and doesn't
require any skill (like not getting blown up by your own rocket launcher)
This best works on Liberty
City right near the start where the train station is. Have a car
waiting then get out and wait for the train. When it comes go in by pressing
ENTER then you can press CTRL to hijack the train. You can now get out
again by pressing ENTER then get in again and hijack it again. The good
thing is you get points every time you hijack it and you seem to get infinite
pedestrians coming out of the train! The car? Once you've had enough stop
going in and out and get in the car and chase all the peds on to the railway!
This is really cool with a high bonus multiplier and you can get
$100,000 quickly.
Once you have left the config
screen and the music has started, you can take the GTA CD out of the drive
and substitute your own CD without hassle - GTA will never check it again.
I found that instead of running
over cops with their own cars you can shoot them with a flame thrower and
get an additional 3000 points.
In reference to Chris' tip
on typing a cheat name (next tip on this page), starting a game, then exiting
to enter another name - This is not needed. Simply enter your first
chosen cheatname, like buckfast, and hit enter. Don't select the
person, but instead hit delete to re-enter the name and enter any other
cheat names you want to use. I key in buckfast, suckmyrocket, and itstantrum
one after the other and they work fine!
These cheat codes are persistent
between sessions started in the same game. In other words, if you
want all weapons, start a game with the name 'buckfast'. Quit
that game but don't exit all the way out. Start another game with
the name 'itstantrum'. Now you have unlimited lives, and the '*'
key still gives full ammo. Combine this with 'itsgallus' and you
can have all the levels too!
If ya wanna have some fun
without gettin shot up by the cops do the following:
There is another thing to
do with the religious groups. Once you have punched them a couple
of times, they begin to follow you. Lead them to the train track
and head straight for it. At the last
Here is a tip to net millions of dollars in a short amount of time. 1. Locate a garage.
A general tip about the police:
Be nice. Stop you car. Wait till the policeman is getting out of his car.
And then ... smash him with yours!
When a cop is chasing you
on foot , shoot his car and it will explode
Get a machine-gun or a flame-thrower,
stand in front of the Gouranga group leader and shoot. You'll get around
100000 points and the cops after you. But don't worry you've always got
the AUTO shop!
If you steal a cops car and
drive over that cop with the car you make 7000 points.
With the rocket launcher,
when your near that Monk group or people in Orange wait until they
are walking beside a building and fire! I got about 400,000 points!
If you want to listen to
music while you are playing the GTA demo, just put your favorite cd in
your CD-ROM and the music will start when you start the demo. Hit
F5 to change tracks.
The rocket launcher and the
flame thrower are very dangerous weapons, but most of the time it is you
who are in danger. Make sure that you are a good distance from your
target, otherwise you'll be the one incinerated on the pavement.
Another rocket launcher tip is to try and shoot the building near your
target. A portion building will blow up and anything near it will
be blown up as well.
I found out that if you punch
the leader of the Gouranga group about 11 or 12 times.. maybe more.. I
know it took a lot, he'll start to chase you, sometimes he'll chase you
to beat you up, or he'll just follow you around like a sidekick, I had
two punching a pedestrian at the same time:) any ways you could do that
with any of the members, but if you tick off the leader, they'll all follow..
kinda like follow the leader
If the cop's get to hot on
your tail and you don't want to loose those precious bonus points
you just got after having finished a couple of missions, you can
in the city of Liberty, seek shelter in the park, it's just above
the phones where you pick up your first mission. If the cops are
following you in a car, simply enter this park, and you can outrun
them by driving through the park. The cops will not follow you unless they
are on foot. Also when you are being chased, use the alleys
for quick get aways.
The only way I've found to
use the motorcycles over long distances is to try and drive either on the
yellow center line, or to drive right on the curb. It doesn't work
all the time but it sure helps
To take over the train just
wait at a platform and when it stops use the <ENTER> key (just like
a car). Once inside hit the <CTRL> key. You can then stop
and start the train with the arrow keys and open the doors with the <ENTER>
key, but only at a platform.
Try running over a train
platform when a cop is chasing you on foot. You can make it if you run
straight over. If you then run up or down the platform, the cop will take
it diagonally and get fried. 10000 points!
Buses move quite slow at
first but once they get moving they can be quite good for a police chase.
As the cops chase you they tend to slam repeatedly into the back of your
bus which causes them to blow up shortly afterward, but causes your bus
very little damage. Buses can take a lot of hits in the front and
back, but less on the sides so keep this in mind during the chase.
Fire engines, limos, and ambulances are similar to buses but they accelerate
quicker and handle better.
Here is a tip to gain an
extra life in Vice City, level1 (Bent Cop Blues).
In one of the San Andres'
missions, you have to get Yu Fong's car from the Police Impound.
I found that by parking the police car (which you have to find to gain
access into the impound) just at the gate of the impound, the gates will
not close for the rest of the game (although the police car which
you used might disappear).
Throughout the rest of the game, I was able to then enter the police impound
parking lot and pick the car of my choice to use, when I happened to pass
that area. The benefit is that there are several fast cars in there
and it will not constitute a car jacking if you took a car.
In san andreas there is a
insane stunt bonus in north east richman. When you get this you should
get a call on the pager. Then drive around richman and hey presto one monster
bug kill frenzy!!!
In Vice City I've found 7
or 8 multipliers, one on the military island North East of Vice Beach.
Most hospitals and police stations have goodies on top of them although
it may take a while to go
Once you've gathered a multiplier of 11 or 12 you'll probably be on 3,000,000 points then all you need to do to complete the game is then steal a few cossies and hotrods!!! TIP : After a kill frenzy
is completed on vice city pause the game to read where the bonus is, as
it wont repeat the message!!!
In reference to phillip spittle's
tip to gat a tank in vice city you can also get to the island by going
over athe footbridge next to the docks above the island this footbridge
also contains an armor power up which means the guards are not a problem.
This is more of a bug and
its very hard to do. In Heist almighty ,Level 1 mission 2, I was doing
the remote control car mission. When you blow up mummys car there is a
delay before the "camera" goes back to your position. During this delay
get out of your car and try moving forwards and getting into another car.
you wont be able to see it so it will take a few trys. When I did this
the camera pans back tothe white jeep. However I had control of another
car (jugular) too. When you go to get out of the car you get out of the
jeep.. You still have control of the other car. Thus I was on one side
of the city while another car was causing havoc on the other!!!!
I think this is a bug in the game and there are very low chances of doing
it but its well funny when you do.
When you are in San Andreas
(both missions) go to northwest Richman. There's a car there. If
you get into the car and drive straight forward you will jump over
a large piece of water and get an insane stunt bonus!
There is a Kill Frenzy in San Andreas - Campaign 2. Go to West Woodside and locate the police station there and go up and left of it. You will find a Love Wagon with the usual Remote Control Car Kill Frenzy. Again in San Andreas - Campaign 2. Go to the very bottom left of the map (West Sunview) and jump the gap you find there using a superbike or bike, a superbike is parked nearby if you need one. When you land on the other side hit the brakes otherwise you may end up in the ocean. Collect the token to get the following message... "The doors to destruction are now open." Jump back across the gap and head for either of the following locations.. 1) East Marina in the Large complex there. The gates open when you drive near them in any car. 2) Go to West South East
Richmans and head for the park, you will see a tank under a metal grill.
Head directly EAST from it and you will come to a fence. Directly
below you is a gate that is open. Drive around to it (you will need
to go into West Atlantic Heights) and walk in. This leads you to
the tank.
LIBERTY CITY
SAN ANDREAS
VICE CITY
In San Andreas if you get
down to southern Woodside (Down from the Golden Gate bridge) there is a
smaller bridge, right of it, there is water and a dirt surface or
something, use a car without damage and slowly jump down on it. The
car will almost break but it won't. There's a stair to get up, but
try this: Use a gun, machine gun or flamethrower and blow up the
car when standing just a little bit away from it and you will turn
on fire. Don't worry, this'll save you: The edge to the water is blocky,
just run diagonally from one edge to the other and you won't be on fire
anymore. This takes a little practice because if you are not fast
enough you will drown. If you use the stairs to get up there's a
pool of water. You can do the same there but there's another fun
thing to do there: If you're chased by the cops, just stand on the
edge of the pool and wait until the cops close, then run over the
edge to the other edge straight through the water and the cop will follow
you, the thing is, he'll drown and nobody's gonna blame you for it.
Sad enough you don't get any point's but it's fun just drowning cops.
In Liberty City, Episode
2, in order to get to the tank on the parking lot, you can also use a tanker
to drive through the barrier (avoids trouble with the cops)
- especially in Vice City there are a few missions where you have to run over long pedestrian-only, walk-ama-things to succeed or to get some precious power ups. This goes sloooow. So I thought: why not try a bike? And yeah: if you wanna speed things up in one of these walkie things, just grab yourself a bike and race on! - Continuing on the same
thread: on top of one of the hospitals in Vice City are TWO "multiplier
up!" power ups and in another hospital there's one in the hospital itself.
Unfortunately, for the roof one, you have to walk a very long walk up stairs
and roofs, so grab a bike, dudes!
Running out of lives in the Vice City levels? Try going down to West Little Bogota. On the other side of the building north of the graveyard there's a ramp that will get you up on to a roof, get a bike and jump the roof, and on the other side u'll find a box with an extra life, but the trick here is to get back down from the roof. There's a "Remote/Radio Car"
Frenzy located in a car to the very west of little Bogota in one of the
alleys close to the wall thingie.
I found a tank that shoots
in Vice City 1, just to the upper left of the starting point. It is enclosed
within some fences and buildings, but if you use a bike or super bike to
jump a gap between buildings you can get it and a portion of the fence
disappears, allowing you to use the tank. There is another area in Vice
City that you can do this in, it's in Little Bogota. I haven't got there
yet, I keep falling off and dying. You can easily identify jumps, they're
gray slanted buildings that remind me of military barracks.
There are two tanks parked
in liberty city - chapter 2. They are in an industrial bit in north
west Estoria. But neither of them can fire though.
Get the tank by using the
police car to get into the army base. Now find a train station quickly
and as soon as you find it wait for the train. As soon as it arrives,
drive up to the door, people will come rushing out only to be crushed by
your metal hulk. Now back up a little and aim straight into the door
(before it closes) you will emerge safely out the other side with $20,000
and 40,000 points to your name.
If you cheated to select
all maps , drive in San Andreas 2 to East Atlantic Heights , 1 quarter
under the Hospital , there is a Monster Truck!
In the first San Andreas mission, you can gain extra lives by using the various secret kill frenzies that are littered around the city... By far the best of these is a tank YOU CAN FIRE FROM... To get the tank, cross the big golden gate bridge and immediately go East when you reach the southern shore. Now go back up to the shore and you'll find a building with a hole you can drive through... Keep going and you'll find a long peninsular on the other side of the building which you can drive along (also some shallow water) This'll get you to the tank... Another fun one is the remote control car bombs. These can be found in two of the car parks on the northern shore, hidden in a Love Wagon... The coolest one to find (I
was totally astounded to find you can walk on building roofs) is the flamethrower
kill frenzy. One of the missions involves you following a guy to a building
with a blue and white stripped canopy and then stealing a beetle, rigging
it with explosive and taking it back. If you go round to the south face
of this building, you'll find some stairs up to the roof. The flamethrower's
up here...
If you get the mission where
you should make sure a dope dealer makes his delivery, you'll immediately
get a mission to follow a competitor, do so by foot, finding a car
can mean failing your mission. Now when you have tracked him down,
to where he's going to. Find a car and drive around back, and you can with
ease drive down the bastards shooting at you. Don't try to outgun
them, that tactic will only work 1 out of 4 times if you are lucky.
Ok, I found out how to get
the tank - you steal a cop car in Liberty City and then that allows you
to drive into the army base, and then you get into the tank.
(In regards to the above
tip)

But be careful because if you go out too far your machine will crash. It might be possible to zoom out even further with more memory but the machine these were taken on only had 32 MB or RAM with a 4 MB video card. but don't want access to all the missions you can just hit R to
